Sun PhuQuoc Airways officially commenced commercial operations for its direct route between Ho Chi Minh City and Van Don on the afternoon of 15/6. A flight departing from Tan Son Nhat Airport landed at Van Don Airport in Quang Ninh, with a return flight from Van Don arriving in Ho Chi Minh City that same evening. These inaugural flights saw an occupancy rate exceeding 90% after more than one month of ticket sales.
The new Ho Chi Minh City - Van Don route currently operates four round-trip flights each week. To meet growing passenger demand, the airline plans to increase the frequency of this service to one flight daily starting in August.
According to an airline representative, this new route expands travel options for passengers from Vietnam's southern region, connecting them directly to key tourist destinations in Quang Ninh, such as: Ha Long Bay, Bai Tu Long Bay, and the Sun World Ha Long entertainment complex.

Following the launch of the Ho Chi Minh City - Van Don service, Sun PhuQuoc Airways plans to open three additional domestic routes in July. These include Ha Noi - Nha Trang (three flights daily), Ho Chi Minh City - Hai Phong, and Hai Phong - Phu Quoc, each operating one flight daily.
Sun PhuQuoc Airways first took flight on 1/11/2025. The airline, part of SunGroup, has a total investment capital of 2,500 billion VND and aims for a fleet size of 31 aircraft by 2030. For Sun Group, the airline represents the final piece in its comprehensive ecosystem, which encompasses resort tourism, entertainment, infrastructure, and real estate.
