Amidst the increasing presence of water pollutants such as microplastics, PFOA, and PFOS, selecting a water purifier capable of filtering these substances is essential. Amway's New eSpring water purifier emerges as a notable solution, featuring a dual filtration system that combines a Carbon e3 filter and a UVC-LED lamp to address these growing concerns.

Recent research highlights the severity of water contamination. A study published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences revealed that, on average, one liter of bottled water can contain up to 240,000 microplastic fragments, with 90% being nanoplastics—tiny particles smaller than one micrometer. Furthermore, researchers from the University of Newcastle found that individuals might ingest 1,769 microplastic particles weekly through drinking water, whether from bottles or the tap. A separate analysis on Sciencedirect also pointed to the widespread presence of perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) across 15 countries examined.
To combat this reality, experts recommend that consumers choose water purifiers equipped with modern treatment technologies specifically designed to eliminate emerging pollutants like microplastics, PFOA, and PFOS.
The New eSpring system employs a sophisticated dual filtration approach. Its core technology integrates a multi-layered Carbon e3 filter with an advanced UVC-LED lamp, providing comprehensive purification against a wide range of contaminants.
The Carbon e3 filter comprises three distinct membrane layers, engineered to reduce over 170 types of water pollutants. The primary membrane layer effectively removes large sediments such as sand, grit, and mud. The subsequent protective layer captures smaller particles, including microplastics and asbestos. The innermost layer is a carbon filter, the primary component for treating particles as small as 0.2 micrometers—hundreds of times smaller than a human hair. This layer also reduces persistent compounds like PFOA and PFOS.

Following filtration by the Carbon e3, water undergoes further treatment in the UVC-LED chamber, the second key technology of the eSpring system. Here, UV-C light directly targets the DNA and RNA of microorganisms, effectively neutralizing their ability to reproduce. Certified by NSF International, this technology reduces up to 99.9% of bacteria, viruses, and cysts present in water.
The product is designed for use with tap water or other approved clean water sources. It does not prevent or reduce illness and has not been tested for adenovirus or coronavirus reduction. Users can conveniently monitor water usage and filter replacement times through the Amway Healthy Home application.
Beyond its technical capabilities, Amway designed the New eSpring to complement a modern living space. Its compact design and ease of installation make it suitable for various home environments, making it a popular choice among young families.
Recognized for its technological advancements and user-friendly features, the New eSpring by Amway won the "Product I Love 2025" award in the "Water Purifier with Impressive Filtration Technology" category at the Tech Awards 2025. Amway also reached the finals of the Tech Awards 2025 in the "Home Appliance Brand of the Year" category, acknowledging the company's contributions to developing smart home products that align with contemporary consumer trends for healthy and sustainable living.
