Vinasoy leverages AI for product display assessment

Vinasoy partners with Renova Cloud Vietnam to operate an AI-powered display image evaluation system on the AWS cloud computing platform.

In the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry, evaluating in-store product displays ensures products meet standards and boosts sales efficiency. Previously, after sales staff completed displays and took photos at stores, images were uploaded to a system for manual review by a dedicated team based on set criteria. This process consumed significant time and resources, especially as the number of retail outlets grew.

To address this challenge, Vinasoy partnered with Renova Cloud Vietnam to implement an AI-powered display image evaluation system on Amazon Web Services (AWS). Combining artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, generative AI, and cloud computing infrastructure, the system automatically identifies products, analyzes display images, assesses compliance with established criteria, and calculates scores.

What was once a manual process is now fast and consistent. While one person previously took about one minute to evaluate one image, the AI system now processes up to 22 images per second, a speed approximately 1,300 times faster. This also shortens the time from when sales staff take photos to when they receive evaluation results, laying the groundwork for near real-time display management.

Beyond speed, applying a consistent set of evaluation standards helps reduce human subjectivity. This enhances fairness and transparency for stores, sales staff, and management levels, contributing to the standardization of display visuals across the entire system.

The AI system also improves product presence quality at retail outlets through fast, accurate monitoring and evaluation. As a result, products are arranged correctly, easily identifiable, and always ready to meet consumer shopping needs.

Customers will also find desired products easily, saving selection time and enjoying a convenient shopping experience.

According to a Vinasoy representative, the AI display image evaluation project is not just a technology initiative but part of the company's comprehensive digital transformation strategy.

Alongside its expertise in plant-based nutrition, Vinasoy has recently invested in technology platforms, data, and automation. These investments aim to improve management efficiency, optimize operations, and enhance customer service capabilities. Le Ba Be, Vinasoy's National Sales Director, stated that digital transformation is a continuous journey to boost operational efficiency and create more value for consumers, not merely the adoption of new technologies.

The collaboration with Renova Cloud Vietnam to deploy the AI-powered display image evaluation system represents a concrete step in this strategy. Through data, AI, and digital platforms, Vinasoy aims to optimize sales operations, improve management capabilities, and enhance product presence quality at retail outlets.

In the coming period, both parties plan to expand the application of AI solutions, including exploring the implementation of Agentic AI in distribution, marketing, and customer service. This forms part of Vinasoy's digital transformation roadmap to improve operational efficiency and better meet consumer needs, while also gradually realizing the goal of developing healthy plant-based nutritional products from soybeans and nuts, bringing healthy lives to every home.
