The trend of Vietnamese pursuing education abroad continues to expand in both scale and destination. According to data released by the Ministry of Education and Training at the Higher Education Conference 2025, nearly 250,000 Vietnamese are currently studying overseas, indicating a growing demand for international education.
This growth also highlights the significant financial pressures on families with children studying abroad. Tuition and living expenses are typically paid in installments, occurring multiple times a year and throughout the study period, creating a consistent need for large-value international money transfers.
In response, international money transfer services have become a crucial part of the study abroad journey. Users prioritize solutions that offer simple procedures, fast processing times, reasonable costs, and transparent transaction tracking.
Addressing these needs, VPBank has developed a study abroad money transfer service that digitalizes the process, simplifies procedures, and optimizes costs. This service allows customers to purchase and transfer foreign currency abroad to pay for tuition and living expenses for themselves or their relatives studying overseas.
Customers can conduct these transactions at nearly 300 VPBank branches nationwide or online via the VPBank NEO application. Through the app, users can create transfer orders, declare information, upload necessary documents, and monitor the transaction's processing status.

According to a bank representative, the digitalized process significantly shortens processing times and enhances transparency. Customers also benefit from exchange rate offers of up to 150 points for many popular foreign currencies, including: USD, EUR, AUD, CAD, GBP, JPY, and SGD.
Alongside enhancing the transaction experience, VPBank has launched the "Connect Five Continents - Zero Transfer Fees" program, offering free study abroad money transfer services until 26/10. Transfers in JPY will receive this benefit until 16/3/2027. The bank states that this policy aims to alleviate costs for parents and international students managing tuition and living expenses abroad.
The bank also introduced the "VPBank Global Protection - Worry-Free Study Abroad" program, which includes additional healthcare and insurance benefits. Customers who successfully complete a study abroad money transfer meeting the minimum required value will receive an e-voucher for a vaccine discount worth 200,000 dong.
Furthermore, customers participating in VP LuxCare health insurance receive an Urbox e-voucher valued at up to 500,000 dong, while those with an AIA life insurance contract can receive benefits of up to 25 million dong.
The Urbox e-voucher system is currently accepted at over 600 partner brands and more than 20,000 payment points nationwide, covering various sectors such as: shopping, dining, and services.
A VPBank representative noted that with the increasing demand for international education, families are prioritizing transparent, secure, and convenient financial solutions for overseas money transfers. Therefore, the bank focuses on developing services with streamlined procedures, optimized costs, and an improved transaction experience.
The bank states that its comprehensive investment in technology platforms, products, and incentive policies is part of its strategy to expand international money transfer services in the coming period.
