Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine announced its admissions data on 5/9, revealing nearly 27,000 applications, an increase of over 50% compared to last year. The university considers this significant, as each candidate was limited to a maximum of 15 applications, unlike the unlimited options previously.
Over 2,200 candidates were admitted, coming from 28 provinces and cities, with nearly 60% of them being female. The top scorer was Nguyen Hung Tien, a new medical student from Dong Thap province, who achieved 27,9 points in the B00 admission block (Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology).
Ten high schools had 20 or more admitted students. The most successful were Nguyen Khuyen, Nguyen Khuyen - Binh Duong, and Le Thanh Tong. All three are part of the Nguyen Khuyen private school system, known for strict discipline and intensive study.
This marks the first time Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine has publicly released this data.

Pham Ngoc Thach University of Medicine was established in 1989, based on the Ho Chi Minh City (TP HCM) Health Cadre Training and Fostering Center, with a student body of nearly 8,900. Since 2017, the university has recruited students nationwide, no longer limiting admissions to those with residency in TP HCM.
