10 students disqualified from high school graduation exam

10 students were disqualified for bringing materials and phones into the literature exam room, while 7,000 others skipped the exam. If they are 12th graders, they will fail to graduate.

The Ministry of Education and Training announced on 26/6 that over 1.14 million students took the literature exam, achieving 99.37% of the total registered. Among them, 8 students were caught using mobile phones and 2 were using prohibited materials, leading to their disqualification.

According to regulations, if these students are in 12th grade, they will not be eligible for high school graduation.

Last year, 26 students were disqualified throughout the entire exam period for bringing prohibited materials and phones into exam rooms. The literature exam saw the highest number of violations, with 12 students disqualified.

Materials and phones are prohibited in any examination room. During the exam preparation procedures yesterday, exam proctors reminded students of this rule. All exam boards provided designated areas for storing personal belongings and reminded students before each exam session.

The high school graduation exam took place on 26-27/6 with over 1.16 million students participating.

After the morning literature exam, many students felt positive about their performance, despite the exam material not being directly from the textbooks. Many teachers described the exam as impressive and relevant to current events, predicting that most students would score between 6 and 7.

Last year, the average score for literature was 7.23, with 8 being the most common score. Two students nationwide achieved a perfect 10, while 68 students failed (scoring below 1).

This afternoon, students will take the 90-minute math exam. Tomorrow, students following the new general education program (2018) will take two elective subjects chosen from: foreign language, chemistry, physics, biology, history, geography, economics and law education, computer science, and technology (agriculture, industry).

Students following the old program (2006) will take the natural science combination (chemistry, physics, biology) or the social science combination (history, geography, civic education).

The 2025 high school graduation exam scores will be announced on 16/7.
