HCMUTE admission scores expected to rise

Admission scores at HCMUTE (Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education) are projected to increase across most programs after the initial application screening. The university attributes this to a rise of approximately 20,000 applicants.

HCMUTE announced on 21/8 that it received over 69,000 applications for approximately 7,900 spots this year. After 5 days of processing applications, the projected admission scores for most programs have increased compared to last year's range of 20.5-27.5/30. A few programs saw a slight decrease.

The English Language Education program is expected to have the highest admission score this year, followed by technology and engineering programs, which have attracted significant interest from applicants.

The university offers four admission methods: academic transcripts, direct admission as regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training and prioritized admission according to the university's plan, 2025 high school graduation exam scores, and the National University of Ho Chi Minh City's competency assessment test scores.

For admission based on academic transcripts, students from 675 high schools receive an additional 0.8-1 points. Applicants with foreign language certificates or national and provincial-level academic awards receive an additional 0.5-1.2 points.

HCMUTE's tuition for the 2025 academic year is expected to be 32.5-62 million VND per year, an increase of over 12% compared to last year.
