On the first day of the high school graduation exam, 27 candidates were disqualified, an increase of 12 from last year. The majority, 25 candidates, were caught using mobile phones, while two others used reference materials.
The Ministry of Education and Training announced on the afternoon of 11/6 that nearly 1.2 million candidates took the math exam, achieving a 99.42% participation rate. Among these, 11 candidates were disqualified for violations during the math session. Additionally, the number of candidates violating regulations in the literature exam session increased from 12 to 16.
According to exam regulations, disqualified candidates must immediately submit their exam papers, test booklets, and scratch paper to the proctor and leave the examination room. Their results for all subjects will be nullified, meaning 12th-grade students will not be eligible for high school graduation.
Despite the incidents of phone use, exam boards reported no leaks of exam questions outside the testing room during the exam period. The Ministry assessed the first day of exams as safe and well-managed. Exam boards and proctors performed their duties effectively, promptly detecting and addressing all cases of regulation violations. Most candidates took the exam seriously.
The high school graduation exam spans two days, 11-12/6, involving over 1.2 million candidates. On the first day, candidates completed two compulsory subjects: math and literature. Observations at various testing centers in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and Dong Nai indicated many students felt relieved after finishing half of their examinations. Many candidates also found the math exam to be easier than last year's.
Candidates will take two optional subjects tomorrow, each lasting 50 minutes. The exam session concludes at 9:30 AM.
