As of 29/1, the longest Binh Ngo Lunar New Year 2026 holiday for students is 14 days, observed in An Giang, Ca Mau, Lao Cai, Lam Dong, Vinh Long, and Quang Ninh provinces.
Among these, Quang Ninh announced an official schedule of 13 days (from 16-28/2), but 1/3 is a Sunday, so students do not have to return to school until 2/3. This makes it the locality where students return to school latest nationwide.
Tay Ninh and Dong Nai grant students 12 days off. Can Tho, Gia Lai, Khanh Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City, and Ha Tinh offer fewer days, with 11. However, according to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, many schools can proactively arrange their schedules, with some granting students up to 16 days off.
Hanoi remains the locality with the shortest Tet holiday for students nationwide. The official holiday for students in the capital lasts 5 days, from 16-20/2. As the days before and after the holiday are weekends, students who do not attend school on Saturday can have a maximum of 9 days off.
