The history exam has two sections with 28 questions, including multiple-choice and true/false, to be completed in 50 minutes.

Nearly 500,000 of the more than 1.16 million students taking this year's high school graduation exam registered for the history exam. The exam consists of 24 multiple-choice questions and 4 true/false questions.

The high school graduation exams took place on 26/6 and 27/6, with over 1.16 million students participating. The exam catered to students following both the 2018 and 2006 national high school curricula, resulting in different exam structures and subjects. Of these students, almost 1.14 million followed the 2018 curriculum.

Students are required to take math and Vietnamese literature. They can also choose two subjects from: chemistry, physics, biology, geography, history, economics and law, computer science, technology, and a foreign language (English, German, Russian, Japanese, French, Chinese, or Korean).

Except for Vietnamese literature, which has a written format, all other subjects use a multiple-choice format with three sections, unlike previous years where there was only one type of question. High school graduation exam scores will be released on 16/7.
