Students left the exam room at 9:35 a.m. This is the first year the high school graduation literature exam used material from outside the textbooks. Students have been learning this way throughout the general education program.

Last year, the average literature score for over one million students was 7.23, with 8 being the most common score. Two students nationwide achieved a perfect 10, while 68 students failed.

The high school graduation exam took place on 26/6 and 27/6 with over 1.16 million participants, an increase of nearly 100,000 compared to last year. Nearly 1.14 million of these students were tested under the new (2018) general education program.
Students took the math exam this afternoon. Tomorrow morning, they will take two elective exams, choosing from: chemistry, physics, biology, geography, history, economics and law, computer science, technology, and foreign languages (English, German, Russian, Japanese, French, Chinese, and Korean).
Additionally, around 26,700 students took the exam under the old (2006) program. The literature exam for this group still used material from textbooks. This group also took an additional math exam and a combined subject test (natural sciences or social sciences).
Literature is the only subject with an essay-based exam; the other subjects use multiple-choice formats with three question types: multiple selection, true/false, and short answer.
The 2025 high school graduation exam scores will be announced on 16/7.
