4-year-old child bruised in preschool incident

A 4-year-old child was bruised on their back for refusing to nap, leading to the teacher's suspension pending investigation.

The incident occurred on 5/7. Ha Kieu Trinh, the child's mother, discovered the bruises while bathing her child after preschool. The family immediately reported the incident to the school and took the child to the National Children's Hospital for examination. The doctor's diagnosis: scattered hemorrhagic skin lesions across the upper half of the child's back.

The mother explained that her 4-year-old child attends class C2 at Gia Thuy Preschool in Bo De ward. According to Trinh, the vice-principal and the teacher visited their home that evening to apologize. The teacher admitted to hitting the child 1-2 times because the child was misbehaving and refused to nap.

The family scheduled a meeting with the school and the parent association to review the surveillance footage from 5/7. Trinh recounted seeing the teacher hitting her child in the classroom and then dragging the child into the hallway. Another teacher was present but did not intervene.

"My child's health is now stable, and we are currently seeking a medical assessment of the injuries," Trinh said.

An official from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training confirmed on 9/7 that the incident took place at Gia Thuy Preschool. The school has suspended the teacher, requiring a written report and an apology to the parents. The police are also investigating the incident and are expected to release a report this afternoon.

"The education sector will not protect teachers who violate teaching ethics," the official stated.

Gia Thuy Preschool is a public school in Bo De ward, established in 2008.
