Hanoi Medical University's admission scores have fluctuated over the past three years, partly depending on the difficulty of the national high school graduation exam questions and the number of candidates choosing chemistry and biology, as the university primarily uses the B00 subject combination for admissions.
The medicine and odonto-stomatology programs consistently recorded the highest admission scores, exceeding 27,3 points over the past three years. Specifically, medicine's admission scores for the last two years were 28,27 and 28,13, respectively. For the Thanh Hoa branch campus, the admission score for medicine was lower, reaching 25,8 points last year.
Most other programs required scores above 20. However, last year, amidst a general decrease in the university's admission scores, some programs accepted as low as 17 points, including preventive medicine, social work, and nursing at the Thanh Hoa branch campus.

Hanoi Medical University plans to admit approximately 2,000 students this year. Admissions will be conducted through three methods: direct admission, evaluation based on national high school graduation exam scores, and assessment using the SPT competency evaluation scores from Hanoi National University of Education. The SPT scores are applicable only to bachelor's degree programs such as: nursing, midwifery, dental prosthetics technology, medical laboratory technology, rehabilitation techniques, ophthalmic optometry, public health, psychology, and social work.
Regarding subject combinations, Hanoi Medical University considers six combinations: A00 (mathematics, physics, chemistry), A01 (mathematics, physics, English), B00 (mathematics, chemistry, biology), D07 (mathematics, chemistry, English), D01 (mathematics, literature, English), and D10 (mathematics, geography, English). Notably, the two most competitive programs, medicine and odonto-stomatology, only admit students based on the B00 combination.
The university awards bonus points to three groups of candidates: those with national outstanding student awards or national science and technical awards, and those holding international certificates such as IELTS from 5,5 or equivalent, or SAT scores of 1100/1600 or higher. A maximum of 3 bonus points can be added, applicable only to the exam-based admission method.
For the 2026-2027 academic year, Hanoi Medical University's tuition fees are projected to range from 19,1 million VND to 80 million VND, representing an increase of 2,2 million VND to 17,8 million VND compared to last year.
