Average literature scores across 34 Vietnamese provinces

Nghe An students achieved the highest average literature score in the national high school graduation exam, exceeding 8, followed by Ha Tinh and Hanoi, while Da Nang had the lowest average score of 6.26.

Literature, a compulsory subject, was taken by over 1.12 million students in the national high school graduation exam. The national average score was 7, with no student achieving a perfect 10.

Among the 34 newly established provinces, Nghe An boasted the highest average literature score, exceeding 8. Ha Tinh followed closely with an average of 7.9, then Hanoi (7.63) and Thanh Hoa (7.61).

At the other end of the spectrum, Son La had the lowest average score at 5.78, slightly above Cao Bang with 5.96. These were the only two provinces with average scores below 6.

The 2025 high school graduation exams took place on 26/6 and 27/6, with over 1.16 million participants. Nearly 1.14 million students followed the new 2018 curriculum, while over 26,700 followed the older 2006 curriculum.

Students under the new program were tested on two compulsory subjects: literature and math, along with two elective subjects chosen from: chemistry, physics, biology, history, geography, economics and law, computer science, agricultural technology, industrial technology, and foreign languages (7 languages).

Students have 10 days after receiving their scores to request a re-mark, with a deadline of 25/7. Official results, temporary graduation certificates, and high school transcripts will be issued by 22/7.

University application registration, adjustments, and additions will be open from 16/7 to 5 PM on 28/7, with no limit on the number of changes. Application fees can be paid online from 29/7 to 5 PM on 5/8.

Before applying, students are encouraged to consult the VnExpress University Search website to review historical trends in university admission scores by program and institution, as well as tuition fees. The website also suggests programs and institutions with admission scores similar to the student's current scores across various subject combinations.

University admission scores for 2025 will be announced before 5 PM on 22/8.
