The commendation ceremony took place on the evening of 27/12, hosted by the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religious Affairs (formerly the Committee for Ethnic Minorities).
The 145 students and youth honored represented 52 ethnic groups from 30 provinces and cities. Their achievements included national and international awards in cultural subjects, science and technology, arts, and sports. Many scored 27 points or higher on their university entrance exams, graduated as valedictorians, or were outstanding representatives nominated by their local communities.
According to the organizing committee, this year marked the highest representation of ethnic groups (52) and the most award recipients. It was also the first time valedictorian graduates were honored.

First held in 2013, the commendation ceremony aims to honor Vietnam's tradition of valuing education. It also recognizes and encourages ethnic minority students to overcome challenges and achieve academic excellence. The program seeks to inspire younger generations to pursue their dreams despite difficulties.
Over 12 editions, more than 2,000 students from 53 ethnic groups have been honored. Many have gone on to become doctors, engineers, teachers, and military officers, making significant contributions to their homeland.
