The University of Economics (UEB), Vietnam National University, Hanoi, announced on the morning of 23/12 that it will discontinue the review of high school transcripts for most of its domestic regular training programs starting in 2026. This change marks a shift from the 2025 admission cycle, which considered high school transcripts combined with international English certificates.
For the 2026 academic year, UEB plans to admit 3,000 students across 6 programs. Admissions will primarily use three methods: direct admission, scores from the high school graduation exam (including a combination of exam scores and international English certificates), and scores from the HSA competency assessment exam organized by Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
Under the high school graduation exam score method, the university will utilize 5 subject combinations: D01 (Math, Literature, English), C01 (Math, Literature, Physics), C04 (Math, Literature, Geography), C03 (Math, Literature, History), and X01 (Math, Literature, Economic and Legal Education). This means three previous combinations—A01 (Math, Physics, English), D09 (Math, History, English), and D10 (Math, Geography, English)—will no longer be used.
It is important to note that these changes apply exclusively to domestic regular training programs. For international joint programs, the university will continue to consider high school transcripts and all the aforementioned subject combinations, along with D08 (Math, Biology, English).
Candidates holding international certificates, such as SAT, ACT, and A-level, as well as those with awards from gifted student competitions or science and engineering contests, will receive bonus points when applying via high school graduation exam scores.

For comparison, in 2025, UEB also admitted 3,000 students, with 2,500 for domestic regular programs and the remainder for international joint programs. Cut-off scores for 2025 ranged from 24,2 to 25,72, with accounting and development economics having the lowest scores and international economics the highest.
Tuition fees for UEB's domestic regular programs for the 2025-2026 academic year are 46 million VND. An exception is the business administration program for sports talents, which has a fee of 31,5 million VND. For international joint training programs, annual tuition fees can exceed 100 million VND.
