After the high school graduation exam, many students enter a period of anxious waiting for results while facing the pressure of choosing a major and university in a short time. Although the Ministry of Education and Training allows adjustments to university applications from 16/7 to 28/7 with unlimited changes, making a choice without knowing exam scores remains a challenge for many students.
Therefore, academic transcript assessment can be a safe option for students while they await their results. FPT University has implemented this method early on to help students alleviate pressure and proactively secure their place.
For the 2025 admissions season, FPTU offers more than 4 diverse admissions methods. Among them, the SchoolRank-based academic transcript assessment offers high flexibility, expanding opportunities for students of all subject combinations, without limiting their field of study.
Students need to be in the Top 50 of SchoolRank – a national student ranking based on 11th-grade academic performance and the first semester of 12th grade. They also need a combined score of 21 or higher in Math plus any two other subjects in the second semester of 12th grade.
Students with language certificates such as IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT 80, VSTEP level 4, JLPT N3, TOPIK level 4, HSK level 4, and others will have their foreign language score converted to 10, increasing their chances of admission.

In addition to academic transcript assessment, students born in 2007 can apply to FPT University through three other pathways. The first is the Competency Assessment exam, applicable to those in the top 50 of the exams held by Hanoi National University (from 78 points) or Ho Chi Minh City National University (from 653 points as of 13/6). The admission thresholds for subsequent rounds will be updated later.
Second, students can apply using their high school graduation exam scores from any year, using a combination of Math and any two other subjects, plus bonus points as regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training. The admission threshold is the top 50 for students using 2025 high school graduation exam results; a score of 21 (or 19.5 for first-generation students) for those using high school graduation exam scores from previous years.
Finally, the university accepts students with foreign high school diplomas or international certificates such as Aptech HDSE/ADSE, ARENA ADIM, Skillking, Jetking, BTEC HND, Melbourne Polytechnic, FUNiX Software Engineering, FPT Polytechnic College diplomas; as well as high school graduates from schools under the FPT Education Organization.
FPTU also continues its preferential policy for first-generation students – the first in their family to attend university (with confirmation from their school). Those in the Top 55 of SchoolRank will be directly admitted.
