Professor Nguyen Tien Thao, director of the department of higher education, shared this information on July 19.
Unlike previous years, this year's admission scores will be converted between different subject combinations and admission methods to ensure fairness for all candidates. A single major may accept applications from multiple subject combinations. The score differences between these combinations will be adjusted according to percentile ranks.
The ministry will announce the percentile ranks for the five traditional combinations: A00 (math, physics, chemistry), A01 (math, physics, English), B00 (math, chemistry, biology), C00 (literature, history, geography), and D01 (math, literature, English) early next week.
This data will serve as a reference for both students and universities when determining the converted admission scores between different methods and subject combinations.

At the university application consultation event organized by Tuoi Tre Newspaper on the morning of July 19, many students planning to apply with the D01 combination expressed concern about the lower high school graduation exam scores compared to other combinations.
Several universities have already published their percentile ranks and the score differences between subject combinations. For example, at Vietnam National University, Hanoi, a score of 27.75 in the D01 combination is equivalent to 30 in A00. Hanoi University of Science and Technology adds 0.5 points to D01 applicants compared to other combinations.
Students can register and adjust their university applications an unlimited number of times until 5 PM on July 28. Universities are gradually announcing their minimum admission scores and predicted benchmarks. The ministry will announce the minimum scores for teacher training and health science programs early next week.
After registering their applications, students must pay the application fee online from July 29 to 5 PM on August 5. Universities will publish their official admission scores before 5 PM on August 22.
