On the morning of june 12, over 1.2 million candidates completed the 2026 high school graduation exam. This year's exam, held over two days, june 11-12, saw a record participation of over 1.2 million students nationwide. On june 11, students completed the two compulsory subjects: literature and mathematics. On the morning of june 12, they sat for their chosen optional subjects, with over 347,000 candidates taking the foreign language exam, primarily English.

Last year, nearly 353,000 candidates took the English graduation exam. Their average score was 5,38, and the median score was 5,25.

The 2026 high school graduation exam scores will be released on 1/7. Following this, students can begin registering and adjusting their university admission aspirations from 2/7 until 5 p.m. on 14/7.
