On 31/1, officials at Nguyen Van Cu Primary School in Quy Nhon Nam ward announced an extended suspension for the English teacher. The school is re-grading all affected papers to reach a final conclusion and determine appropriate disciplinary action.
The incident came to light after 14 parents of third and fourth-grade students reported suspicious alterations to their children's English exam papers. They noted added handwriting and words in answers, which resulted in incorrect scores.
In her explanation to the school, the teacher admitted to unilaterally altering student papers. She stated her concern that consistently high scores might lead students to become complacent in their studies. However, she denied allegations that her interference was related to students not attending private tutoring sessions at her home.
Nguyen Van Cu Primary School, which serves over 2,200 students across 52 classes during the 2025-2026 school year, is one of Gia Lai province's largest educational institutions.
