First 20 students admitted to University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City

Twenty national award-winning students have been directly admitted to the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City (UMP), marking a one and a half times increase compared to last year.

The University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City announced the list of directly admitted candidates on the afternoon of 29/6. Among them, three students, Vu Hong Anh (Dong Nai), Pham Ngoc Ha (Hai Phong), and Hoang An Huy (Ha Noi), were admitted to the medical program. Most of the remaining students were admitted to the pharmacy program.

According to the university's regulations, candidates who are labor heroes, heroes of the people's armed forces, national emulation fighters, or those who achieved first, second, or third prizes in Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, or Biology at national or international excellent student competitions are eligible for direct admission.

To be officially recognized for admission, candidates must register their preferences on the Ministry of Education and Training's admission system from 2/7 to 14/7.

In addition to the directly admitted students, the university will admit over 2,700 students based on their 2026 high school graduation exam scores. Candidates with international certificates such as IELTS, TOEFL, or SAT will receive a maximum of 1,5 bonus points, a change from the combined assessment method of previous years.

The tuition fees for the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Ho Chi Minh City for the 2026-2027 academic year are projected to be approximately 30-90 million dong, with the dentistry program being the most expensive.

Last year, the university's benchmark scores ranged from 17 to 27,3, with the medical program having the highest score. All programs saw a decrease of 0,4 to nearly 5 points in benchmark scores compared to the preceding year.
