Foreign Trade University sets floor scores for 2025-2026

The Foreign Trade University (FTU) has set its floor score at 24/30 for the A00 combination (math, physics, chemistry), while other combinations are reduced to 23, as announced on the morning of 22/7.

This floor score applies to candidates applying through academic records and high school graduation exam scores. The university stated that this decision is based on the distribution of high school graduation exam scores by subject and combination.

The high school graduation exam scores were announced by the Ministry of Education and Training a week ago. Accordingly, the average scores of 5 traditional university entrance exam combinations decreased by 0.8-2.1 points compared to last year. The B00 combination saw the largest decrease, followed by A01 (math, physics, English - 1.59 points), A00 (math, physics, chemistry - 1.52 points), and C00 (literature, history, geography - 1.24 points).

For the combined admission method using exam scores and international certificates, FTU's floor score is 15-16.5/20. This is the total score of two high school graduation exam subjects, including math and one of the following: literature, physics, or chemistry.

The university uses the A00 combination as the base for calculating admission scores. The benchmark score for this combination is 1 point higher than other combinations, applicable to majors using a 30-point scale.

For language majors, the computer science program, and the data science in economics and business program, the benchmark score is calculated on a 40-point scale, with no difference between combinations.

This year, FTU offers three admission methods. In addition to the two methods mentioned above, the university also offers direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

The academic record admission method applies to three groups of candidates: members of the national excellent student and science and technology teams; those who achieved third prize or higher in city-level excellent student competitions; and students from specialized high schools. Specific requirements for each group vary, but the common requirement is a total score of 24 or higher for three high school graduation exam subjects.

The university uses four main combinations, all of which include math or English, or both: A00 (math, physics, chemistry), A01 (math, physics, English), D07 (math, chemistry, English), and D00 (literature, math, foreign language: English, French, Chinese, Japanese, Russian).

Tuition fees at FTU for the 2025 intake range from 25.5 to 85 million VND per year. The standard program has the lowest fee, at 25.5-27.5 million VND; the computer science and data science in economics and business programs are subsidized by the university by 30%, costing 31.5 million VND.

The advanced program in collaboration with the University of Queensland has the highest fee at 85 million VND, while the career-oriented and international development programs cost 49-65 million VND.

Candidates can register, adjust, and supplement their university application aspirations until 5 PM on 28/7, with no limit on the number of times. Candidates can pay the application fee online from 29/7 to 5 PM on 5/8.

For information about universities before applying, candidates can visit VnExpress's University Lookup page to see the fluctuations in benchmark scores over the years by major, university, or tuition fees. The system also suggests groups of majors and universities that had benchmark scores close to the candidate's achieved score for each combination last year.

The 2025 university benchmark scores will be announced before 5 PM on 22/8.
