For first-generation students (the first in their family, including parents/guardians and siblings, to attend university), the benchmark is 17.
This means that 2025 high school graduates need a combined score of at least 18.5 (or 17 for first-generation students) in math and two other subjects of their choice, including any applicable bonus points. This benchmark applies to all programs and campuses of FPT University nationwide for the 2025 academic year.

In addition to high school graduation exam scores and direct admission as regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training, FPTU also considers academic transcripts, scores from the National University of Hanoi or the National University of Ho Chi Minh City’s competency assessment tests, and other methods.
For admission based on academic transcripts, applicants must be in the top 50 (or top 55 for first-generation students) on the SchoolRank system and have a combined score of at least 21 in math and two elective subjects from the second semester of 12th grade. Elective subjects include: literature, foreign language, history, physics, chemistry, biology, geography, economics & law education, informatics, and technology.
For competency assessment test-based admission, applicants need a minimum score of 78 on the National University of Hanoi’s competency assessment test or 653 on the National University of Ho Chi Minh City's test.
Other admission pathways are available for applicants who: graduated from a high school overseas; hold international certificates (Aptech HDSE/ADSE, Arena ADIM, Skilling, Jetking, etc.); graduated from affiliated programs such as BTEC HND, Melbourne Polytechnic, FUNiX, FPT Polytechnic; or graduated from high schools under the FPT Education Organization. These applicants will be assessed based on standards equivalent to the 2025 high school transcript evaluation pathway.
Eligible applicants must register "FPT" as their desired university on the Ministry of Education and Training’s general admissions support system from 16/7 to 5 PM on 28/7.

FPT University also recently announced a scholarship policy for all applicants listing the university as their first or second choice on the Ministry of Education and Training's general admissions system or the National Public Service Portal. Each eligible applicant will receive a 10 million VND scholarship. There is no limit to the number of scholarships, with a total budget exceeding 100 billion VND.
This scholarship is awarded directly to the student upon enrollment and is non-transferable. It cannot be combined with other scholarship policies. If a student qualifies for multiple scholarships, the university will apply the scholarship with the highest value.
FPT University also offers various empowering financial aid policies: scholarships of up to 100% for the entire program for high-achieving students with national/international accomplishments or high scores on competency assessment tests and the high school graduation exam; STEM scholarships for women pursuing technology; tuition discounts for students studying in Can Tho, Da Nang, and Quy Nhon; and a "Study Now, Pay Later" policy, allowing students to enroll without paying tuition upfront and instead repaying gradually after graduation and securing employment.
