In addition to educational cooperation, FPT Corporation also signed a strategic agreement with ABOV Semiconductor, a leading South Korean semiconductor company specializing in the production of microcontrollers and memory chips. This collaboration aims to research, design, and develop semiconductors, expand the market, and increase the application of semiconductor products in South Korea.
The two sides will use chips designed by FPT, especially in the South Korean market; and implement joint projects to research, design, and develop new generations of chips. At the same time, FPT Corporation and ABOV Semiconductor aim to develop competitive products and engage in further collaborations based on specific projects and practical needs.
As a member of the FPT ecosystem, FPT University benefits from these strategic partnerships, opening up job, internship, and research opportunities in the semiconductor field, a rapidly growing industry with high demand for human resources.
In its semiconductor development plan in South Korea, FPT Corporation wants to build a comprehensive semiconductor ecosystem, from human resources to services, towards sustainable development. Currently, FPT has strengths in custom chip design services and plans to expand into advanced packaging and semiconductor testing. South Korea is a key semiconductor market with a scale of approximately 87 billion USD in 2023, continuing to grow thanks to large investments from corporations.
This country is also one of FPT's key markets in the Asia-Pacific region. FPT currently has nearly 2,000 personnel working in South Korea and remotely supporting from Vietnam, providing technology solutions and services to many large customers such as LG Electronics, LG CNS, Shinhan Bank, Daegu Bank, and Shinsegae I&C.
In the period 2020-2021, the unit was ranked among the top 200 technology companies in South Korea according to Gartner's statistics, and is the leading Vietnamese enterprise in terms of revenue and personnel size in this market.
