The Department states this practice could disrupt the academic year plan and negatively impact the quality of education. It also undermines adherence to provincial and sectoral regulations.
Therefore, the agency requires schools to strictly follow the approved curriculum. Unauthorized adjustments, shortenings, or accelerated programs are forbidden. The Department will conduct unannounced inspections, holding principals and relevant staff accountable for any non-compliance.
Gia Lai province operates 1,265 schools, from preschool to high school, serving over 700,000 students for the 2025-2026 academic year.
This year, Hung Kings' Commemoration Day (the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month) falls on sunday, April 26, granting workers a compensatory day off on monday. Those with a two-day weekend will enjoy three consecutive days off (April 25 to 27). For the April 30-May 1 holidays, individuals with a two-day weekend will have four continuous days off from April 30 to May 3.
Previously, on April 10, the Ministry of Home Affairs clarified that there was no policy to allow for a nine-day holiday by swapping workdays, countering some proposals.
