Gia Lai to host international renewable energy training center

The center will supply highly skilled workers and support Vietnam's 2050 carbon neutrality goal.

Quy Nhon University, Germany's GEO Group, and O-Door Vietnam signed a cooperation agreement on July 14th to establish a renewable energy training center.

The center aims to provide international-standard training in wind power, solar energy, and green hydrogen. This initiative will supply skilled workers for the energy sector and support Vietnam's commitment to carbon neutrality by 2050.

GEO Group will develop the training curriculum, provide technical equipment, and handle system maintenance. O-Door Vietnam will invest in infrastructure, install equipment, and operate the center. Quy Nhon University will manage student recruitment, train instructors, and coordinate certification.

Gia Lai Province People's Committee Chairman Pham Anh Tuan praised the partners for embracing green development and energy transition. He emphasized the project's importance to the province, hoping it will establish Gia Lai as a hub for renewable energy and green hydrogen training and technology transfer in Vietnam. The province is expediting the investor selection process, expecting completion in August.

Mr. Tuan pledged support for the project's timely implementation, urging all parties to follow through on their commitments to make the center a leading training institution nationally and regionally.

On June 18th, the Gia Lai Province People's Committee signed a memorandum of understanding with GEO Group and O-Door Vietnam for the training center project. The 20-hectare facility in Phu My Dong commune has a projected investment of 50 million USD. GEO Group and O-Door Vietnam will establish a legal entity to implement the project in Vietnam.
