Hanoi Medical University (HMU) announced on the evening of 13/2 its plan to admit 2,150 students for the 2026 academic year, an increase of 240 compared to last year. Admissions will be conducted through two methods: direct admission and based on high school graduation exam results. The university has allocated 40% of its quota for direct admissions. If this quota is not fully met, the remaining slots will be transferred to the second method.
For admissions based on high school graduation exam scores, Hanoi Medical University will award bonus points to candidates with international certificates. However, the university has not yet announced the specific list of accepted certificates or the corresponding bonus point levels for this year.
Regarding admission combinations, two programs, traditional medicine and preventive medicine, which previously only accepted B00 (mathematics, chemistry, biology), will now also consider candidates applying with A00. Preventive medicine will further expand its admission options to include D07.
Other programs, including nursing, midwifery, and nutrition, have also added the D07 combination.
Conversely, public health, psychology, and social work programs have completely changed their admission combinations. These programs will now use A01 (mathematics, physics, English), D01 (mathematics, literature, English), D07, and D10 (mathematics, geography, English).
Consequently, the C00 combination, which was used for psychology admissions for the past two years, has been discontinued.
