The 10th grade entrance examination in Ho Chi Minh City for 2026 is scheduled for late May, which is one week earlier than in previous years.
Students will sit for examinations in three core subjects: Mathematics, Literature, and a Foreign Language (primarily English) to gain admission to public high schools. Candidates seeking entry into specialized schools will also take an additional subject-specific exam. For unique areas such as Thanh An island commune and the Con Dao special zone, schools have the option to admit 10th grade students based on their academic records.
The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training stated that the 10th grade exam structure will be similar to last year, primarily covering knowledge from the 8th and 9th grades. The difficulty level will be adjusted to match the overall capacity of students across the city following recent administrative mergers.
