The combined admission score is calculated as follows:
Total combined admission score (after conversion) = ((Math + Literature + Foreign Language × 2) – 4) + bonus points + priority points (if any)
Math, Literature, and Foreign Language scores are taken from the student's academic transcripts. Bonus points, ranging from 1 to 4, are added but cannot exceed 10% of the total admission score. For instance, a student with an IELTS score of 6.0 receives 1 bonus point, while a score of 8.0-9.0 earns 4 points.
Students who have won prizes from the provincial/city level or higher; have standardized test scores (SAT, ACT, A-Level); or have studied in specialized or bilingual classes also receive 1-4 bonus points based on their achievements. National-level academic and scientific competition results, as well as results from the "Road to Mount Olympia" competition, are not considered for combined admission this year.
The total combined admission score (after conversion) cannot exceed 40. According to the university, subtracting 4 points in the formula reflects the correlation between high school graduation exam scores and average high school grades.

2025 tuition fees for over 100 universities
If multiple applicants at the end of the list have the same total score and the same preference, Hanoi University will apply additional criteria in the following order: Foreign Language score, Literature/Physics/Computer Science score, and Math score from the 2025 high school graduation exam.
Hanoi University previously announced a minimum score of 22/40, based on the total score of three graduation exam subjects (with Foreign Language doubled), applicable to all majors and subject combinations.
Specifically, the combinations of Math, Literature, and Foreign Language (D01 to D06 and DD2) are used for Language majors. For Information Technology and Financial Technology, the university considers A01 (Math, Physics, English) and D01 (Math, Literature, English). The new combination, TH01 (Math, English, Computer Science), applies to Information Technology.
Last year, the minimum score was 16, based on a 30-point scale without any multipliers.
