Hanoi University sets minimum admission score at 22/40

Hanoi University (HANU) will accept applications from prospective students with a combined score of 22 out of 40 or higher on three high school graduation exams, with foreign language scores doubled.

On the afternoon of 21/7, HANU announced the minimum score applies to all majors and exam combinations.

Specifically, combinations include math, literature, and foreign language (D01 to D06 and DD2) for language majors. For information technology and financial technology, the university will consider the A01 combination (math, physics, and English). The entirely new combination, TH01 (math, English, and computer science), applies to the information technology major.

Last year, the minimum score was 16, based on a 30-point scale without weighting.

This year, HANU plans to admit 3,305 students through three methods: direct admission and priority admission; combined admission according to university regulations; and admission based on the 2025 high school graduation exam scores.

Hanoi University's tuition for the 2025 academic year is expected to be around 0.78-1.7 million VND per credit, a 7.5-8.3% increase from last year. Students need to complete approximately 145-152 credits to graduate.

In 2024, the university's admission scores ranged from 25.08 to 35.8 out of 40, with the highest for the Chinese language major. Four majors/programs used a 30-point scale (without weighting the foreign language score), ranging from 16.7 to 25.65, including information technology (standard and advanced programs), financial technology, and multimedia communications.

Currently, prospective students can register, adjust, and supplement their university application choices an unlimited number of times until 5 PM on 28/7. Afterward, they can submit application fees online from 29/7 to 5 PM on 5/8.

Prospective students can visit VnExpress's University Lookup page to see the fluctuation of admission scores over the years by major and university. The system also suggests majors and universities from last year with admission scores close to the students' current scores for each exam combination.

The 2025 university admission scores will be announced before 5 PM on 22/8.
