HCMULAW adjusts high school transcripts by up to 4.5 points

Ho Chi Minh City University of Law (HCMULAW) has announced adjustments for high school transcripts, with scores differing from final high school exam results by 2 to 4.5 points depending on the subject combination.

On 24/7, HCMULAW announced two admissions methods: high school transcript evaluation for students from 149 prioritized high schools and transcript evaluation combined with international certificates. Both methods will be converted to equivalent high school exam scores using the formula: y = x - k.

In this formula, y represents the converted score, x represents the average score of the three-subject combination across six high school semesters, and k represents the difference between the transcript score and the final high school exam score.

The score differences for HCMULAW's 2025 admissions are as follows:

Subject Combination Difference (k)
A00 (Math, Physics, Chemistry) 4
A01 (Math, Physics, English) 4.1
C00 (Literature, History, Geography) 2.2

D01 (Math, Literature, English)

D03 (Math, Literature, French)

D06 (Math, Literature, Japanese)

4
D07 (Math, Chemistry, English) 4.5
D14 (Literature, History, English) 2.5
X01 (Math, Literature, Economic and Legal Education) 2.3

X25 (Math, English, Economic and Legal Education)

X33 (Math, French, Economic and Legal Education)

X45 (Math, Japanese, Economic and Legal Education)

4

X78 (Literature, English, Economic and Legal Education)

X86 (Literature, French, Economic and Legal Education)

X98 (Literature, Japanese, Economic and Legal Education)

2

For example, a student with a transcript score of 28 in the D01 combination (x = 28) and a difference of 4 points (k = 4) would have a converted score of:

y = x - k = 28 - 4 = 24

For the V-SAT exam, HCMULAW applies a conversion formula for each subject to match the high school graduation exam scores:

V-SAT and high school graduation exam 2025 score conversion range.

This year, HCMULAW will admit 3,350 students, an increase of 150 compared to last year. Last year's admission scores based on high school graduation exam results ranged from 22.56 to 27.27, with the highest score for the Law program in the C00 combination (Literature, History, Geography).

Currently, students can register, adjust, and supplement their university application choices an unlimited number of times until 5 PM on 28/7. Afterward, they can submit application fees online from 29/7 to 5 PM on 5/8.

University admission scores will be announced before 5 PM on 22/8.
