Healthcare admission scores drop significantly

Eleven healthcare fields require a minimum admission score of 17-20.5, a significant decrease after years of remaining at 19-22.

This combined score from three high school graduation exam subjects, along with any bonus points and without any coefficient multipliers, was announced by the Ministry of Education and Training on 21/7.

Medicine and Odonto-Stomatology still have the highest entry requirements, followed by Traditional Medicine and Pharmacy at 19.

Other healthcare fields, including Nursing, Preventive Medicine, Midwifery, Dental Technician, Medical Laboratory Technician, Medical Imaging Technician, and Physiotherapy, require a minimum score of 17.

These three minimum scores are two points lower than last year. Universities cannot set lower minimums than those stipulated by the Ministry.

The Ministry of Education and Training has implemented these minimum scores for healthcare fields for the past seven years to ensure a baseline entry level for these vital professions.

Based on the announced minimum scores, applicants can register, adjust, and supplement their university application choices until 5 PM on 28/7.

Several universities have already released their admissions predictions. Top medical universities, such as Hanoi Medical University and Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy, expect admission scores to remain high, especially for Medicine. Hanoi Medical University predicts the admission score for Medicine may remain above 28. Scores for less competitive programs may decrease, with larger drops for programs with lower scores last year.

Applicants can visit VnExpress's University Search page to view admissions information, including subject combinations, tuition fees, and historical admissions score trends by program and university. The system also suggests programs and universities with admission scores close to the applicant's current scores for each subject combination.

Applicants can submit their application fees online from 29/7 to 5 PM on 5/8. Universities will announce their official admission scores before 5 PM on 22/8.
