Deputy Prime Minister Le Tien Chau signed a prime minister's decision on September 18 regarding the reorganization of public security academies and schools.
This consolidation will result in 6 academies remaining within the system. The People's Security University will become a branch campus of the People's Security Academy in TP HCM. People's Security College I will also merge into this academy.
Similarly, the People's Police University, People's Police College I, and People's Police College II will merge into the People's Police Academy.
The 6 academies to be retained are: the People's Security Academy, People's Police Academy, Public Security Political Academy, Security Engineering and Technology Academy, International Academy, and Fire Prevention, Fighting, and Rescue Academy.
The prime minister has tasked the Minister of Education and Training with issuing relevant decisions within their authority. This ensures that the reorganized schools continue to provide training, issue degrees to current students, and safeguard student rights.
Annually, the public security education system admits over 2,000 regular university students. This year, admission scores for these schools ranged from 17,14 to 24,42, based on a combined assessment of high school graduation exam scores and the Ministry of Public Security's evaluation test.
