The high school graduation exam took place on 26-27/6 with over 1.16 million test takers. Nearly 1.14 million students took the exam under the new general education program (2018), and over 26,700 followed the old program (2006).
Students under the new program took two compulsory subjects: literature and math, along with two elective subjects chosen from chemistry, physics, biology, history, geography, economics and legal education, informatics, technology (agriculture or industry), and foreign language (7 languages).
Students under the old program took literature, math, and foreign language, along with an elective test in either natural sciences (chemistry, physics, biology) or social sciences (history, geography, civic education).
Last year, civic education had the highest average score at 8.16, followed by literature at 7.23. English had the lowest average score at 5.51, and it was the only subject with an average below 6.
Last year, nearly 10,900 exams achieved a perfect score of 10, a decrease of approximately 5,500 compared to 2023. Math was the only subject without any perfect scores.
In addition to graduation consideration, approximately 733,600 students used their exam results for university admissions.
