On 9/5, the school announced its campus, named King’s College Wimbledon Ho Chi Minh City, will offer education from preschool to high school for students aged two to 18. The 2-hectare campus is located in The Global City urban area, Binh Trung ward.
Doctor Anne Cotton, principal of King's College School in the UK, stated that the curriculum, teacher standards, and other conditions at the Ho Chi Minh City campus will be based on the original model. "We will manage and control all aspects to ensure the same quality as in the UK, including curriculum design, teacher recruitment and training, and student care," Anne said.
For the general education system, students will achieve IGCSE certificates (international general certificate of secondary education for students aged 14-16) and, at a higher level, A level certificates (advanced level general certificate of education in the UK, for students aged 16-19). The school has not yet announced tuition fees.
Nguyen Van Hieu, director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, noted that the city currently has nearly 30 international schools. He hopes the new school will inherit the nearly 200-year tradition of academic excellence from the UK, becoming a place to nurture many Vietnamese talents.
King’s College School was founded under a Royal Charter in 1829, originating as the junior department of King's College London (KCL). The school is among the top 10 private schools in the UK, according to The Sunday Times Parent Power 2026 rankings. Annually, 99% of its students gain admission to major universities worldwide, with about 25% receiving offers from Oxford, Cambridge, and the US Ivy League group.
According to the International Schools Database in 2022, Vietnam has more than 120 international schools, from preschool to high school, primarily in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. A 2024 report by ISC Research indicates that the growth rate of international schools in Vietnam is about 5%. Tuition fees for international schools in Vietnam typically range from 500 million to over 900 million Vietnamese dong.
