Eight police universities are recruiting around 2,350 students this year, but approximately 23,000 candidates took the Ministry of Public Security's assessment test in July. The average competition ratio is 10 to 1.
These universities use three main admission methods: direct admission for students who win national and international competitions as regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Public Security; admission based on the Ministry of Public Security's assessment test combined with international language certificates; and admission based on the assessment test combined with high school graduation exam scores.
For language certificates, these universities consider candidates with an IELTS score of 5.5 or higher, or equivalent. For the last method, the admission score is the sum of three high school graduation exam subjects (40%), the Ministry of Public Security's assessment test score (60%), plus any priority points, regional points, and bonus points.
