The university has organized these sessions to address the growing demand for information from parents and students. In addition to RMIT representatives, current RMIT students who completed the university preparation program before starting their bachelor's degrees will share their experiences.
University preparation programs are common in countries like the UK, Canada, and Australia. This program is recognized as equivalent to year 12 in the Australian education system and serves as a pathway to university, replacing the traditional high school diploma. Students who complete this program are eligible to directly enter the first year of a bachelor's program at RMIT Vietnam or Australia.
The university preparation program offers two main advantages: a shorter pathway to university and early specialization. Compared to international high school programs like A-Level or IB Diploma, which typically last two years, this program only lasts two semesters, equivalent to one academic year after year 11.

In addition to specialized knowledge, the university preparation program equips students with crucial skills for university success, including research, presentation and debate, essay writing, and teamwork. These skills facilitate a smoother transition into university life.
Internal surveys conducted by RMIT Vietnam reveal that the first-year grade point average (GPA) of students who completed the university preparation program is up to 31% higher in some disciplines compared to their peers who did not participate in the program. This highlights the positive impact of early preparation.
Pham Thanh Tuan, a first-year Logistics and Finance student, is among the many students who excelled in the University Preparation Program. He shared that the program's practical teaching methods and instructor guidance motivated him to learn and strive for the best results. The intimate class setting and supportive teachers helped him adapt comfortably to the university environment. The program's content also prepared him for research, essay writing, and report preparation.
"I believe this is an advantage compared to students who directly enter bachelor's programs. They often face difficulties with these tasks, especially in the first year," he added.

RMIT Vietnam's University Preparation Program offers four specialized streams catering to different fields of study: Business; Art, Design, and Architecture; Communication and Social Context; and Information Technology. This full-time program spans two semesters and is entirely taught in English.
Students will take 8 subjects related to their chosen specialization. After completing the program, they can begin their bachelor's degree in a field aligned with their chosen stream. For example, students in the Business stream can pursue bachelor's degrees in Business, Accounting, Digital Marketing, or Tourism and Hospitality Management at RMIT.
For many students, the University Preparation Program also helps them discover their passions and identify suitable fields of study through the program's diverse curriculum. Lai Thu Van, a graduate of the Business stream and a first-year Logistics student, shared that the program's varied subjects provided her with a solid foundation, making it easier to choose a major that aligned with her interests.
Thorough research and listening to real-life experiences from parents and current students are crucial for determining the right pathway that aligns with a student's academic goals and career aspirations.
