Dr. Bui Trung Ninh, Head of Student Affairs at the University of Technology, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, shared this information on the sidelines of the job fair organized by the university on 21/3.
Ninh stated that a recent survey revealed the university-wide employment rate for graduates one year after graduation exceeds 97%. The average monthly salary for these graduates ranges from 15-20 million VND.
The fields offering the most lucrative incomes include: information technology, artificial intelligence, computer engineering, robotics engineering, mechatronics engineering technology, electronics and telecommunications engineering technology, and computer networks and data communication.
"Some outstanding students receive salaries up to 40-50 million VND, or even higher," Ninh said, noting that this group typically works at companies seeking top talent, including some entities applying technology to develop financial sectors.

Pham Tuan Anh, Director of the JobOKO recruitment technology platform, observed that the 15-20 million VND salary range reported by the University of Technology's survey is high compared to the general market for new graduates.
According to JobOKO's 2025 salary report by industry and level, software information technology personnel with under one year of experience earn 10-15 million VND, while those with 1-3 years of experience earn 14-25 million VND. For the Electrical - Electronics - Automation sector, monthly salaries for these two groups are approximately 9,1-15 million VND and 10-16 million VND, respectively.
These results are based on an analysis of nearly 582,000 job postings, surveys of over 1,200 employers, nearly 1,600 candidates, and various online data sources.
However, Tuan Anh believes the average salary received by University of Technology students is reasonable. The university trains in many "hot" fields that require high-quality human resources. For instance, for personnel in the semiconductor or aerospace industries, a salary of up to 40 million VND is "normal". Not only foreign enterprises but also some domestic companies can afford to pay this much.
"The reason is the scarcity of human resources, while the university's top students are exceptional," Tuan Anh stated.
To enhance employment opportunities and average student salaries, Bui Trung Ninh explained that the University of Technology adjusts its curriculum to align with practical needs and invites businesses to collaborate in training. The university also emphasizes communication to ensure students do not start working full-time too early.
"We want students to undertake internships to understand real-world practices, but we do not encourage them to work full-time prematurely," Ninh explained. "Having a solid foundation before starting work helps students secure higher salaries."
Ninh added that many businesses currently commission the university to train students and then hire them immediately after graduation.
Additionally, the university developed a digital job portal for companies to post recruitment notices, allowing students to create CVs and apply. Over 400 employers have participated, resulting in 1,200 CVs created.
