These cooperation contents for the 2026-2031 period were agreed upon by the two universities on the afternoon of 15/5.
The collaboration focuses on five main directions: breakthroughs in training and curriculum development; enhancing scientific research and international publications; faculty and student exchange with mutual credit recognition; digital transformation and sharing of learning resources; and community engagement and academic competitions.
This agreement allows students from Hanoi Law University and Ho Chi Minh City University of Law to experience academic environments in both regions, with their credits being recognized. Large-scale academic platforms, such as moot courts, will also receive significant attention.
Nationwide, the number of universities recognizing each other's credits remains limited, primarily within the economic sectors.
Leaders of both universities believe that this cooperation leverages each institution's strengths to elevate the quality of training and scientific research. The goal is to develop ULAW and HLU into key institutions for training legal cadres, as mandated by the Government.
Ho Chi Minh City University of Law and Hanoi Law University are the two largest law schools in the country in terms of history and training scale.
ULAW was established in 1976, originating from the Southern Judicial Cadre School. The university is managed by the Ministry of Education and Training, with more than 11,500 students and over 300 lecturers.
HLU was founded in 1979, directly under the Ministry of Justice, with approximately 17,000 students and more than 500 lecturers and staff.
