TP HCM advances 10th-grade exam registration schedule

Students in TP HCM will begin registering for 10th-grade aspirations from 22/4, 10 days earlier than last year due to an accelerated exam schedule.

The People's Committee (UBND) of TP HCM announced the enrollment schedule for entry levels on 8/4, which includes the timeframe for 10th-grade exam registration and aspiration adjustments.

Students will have approximately 10 days to register their 10th-grade aspirations online, from 22-28/4. The Department of Education and Training will announce the number of first aspirations for each school by 4/5 at the latest, allowing students to make adjustments between 4-8/5.

Students are permitted to register for a maximum of 8 aspirations, including three regular aspirations, two specialized aspirations, and three integrated aspirations.

The 10th-grade exam registration and aspiration adjustment schedule for TP HCM in 2026 is as follows:

8h 22/4 - 17h 28/4	- Students register aspirations online on the 10th-grade enrollment system. - Secondary schools input graduation review data and assist candidates with registration if technical issues arise. - Students from other provinces and cities wishing to apply to the three specialized high schools in TP HCM submit applications directly to Le Hong Phong High School for the Gifted.
24-29/4	- Units review candidate data.
Latest 9h 29/4	- First registration portal for 10th-grade enrollment closes.
Latest 16h 4/5 (projected)	- Department of Education and Training announces the number of first aspirations at each school.
17h 4/5 - 17h 8/5	- Parents and students adjust aspirations (only aspiration adjustments are accepted, no additions or removals).
26-28/5	- Distribute examination slips to candidates.
Latest 17h 27/5	- Announce the list of candidates directly admitted to 10th grade.
1-2/6	- Conduct 10th-grade examinations.

This year, TP HCM has over 169,000 students graduating from secondary school, an increase of nearly 43,000 compared to last year. The department aims for nearly 118,400 students to enter public 10th grade, targeting a 70% admission rate.

Students will take three subjects: Mathematics, Literature, and a Foreign Language (primarily English) to determine their admission scores. Those aspiring to specialized schools will take the corresponding specialized subject exam. Separately, in Thanh An island commune, Con Dao special administrative region, schools admit students to 10th grade based on academic records.
