University of economics and law lowers admission floor by 2 points

The University of Economics and Law (UEL) is accepting applications with a minimum score of 19 for all programs, based on the combined scores of three high school graduation exam subjects.

On the evening of 23/7, the University of Economics and Law, a member of Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City, announced its minimum admission scores for various application methods. This is the minimum score required for prospective students to apply to the university.

For applicants using high school graduation exam scores, the minimum score has decreased by 2 points compared to last year, from 21 to 19. For those applying with the Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City's competency assessment score, the minimum requirement is 720/1,200.

Specifically for law-related programs, applicants must have a minimum score of 6 in both math and literature in their high school graduation exams or an average math score of at least 6 throughout high school if using the competency assessment score.

The minimum admission scores for the University of Economics and Law in 2025 are as follows:

University admission score predictions - Tuition fees for over 100 universities in 2025

Regarding the score differences between different subject combinations, Cu Xuan Tien, head of the admissions and student affairs office, stated that the university will base its decisions on the score distribution of the 2025 high school graduation exams and the equivalent conversion framework (using the percentile method) between different admission methods and subject combinations. The admission scores will vary between different combinations.

According to Tien, due to the significant decrease in math and English scores in the 2025 high school graduation exams, the university's admission scores may decrease by approximately 0.5-1.5 points compared to last year.

Popular programs such as international business, e-commerce, international economics, marketing, and economic law, which are highly competitive and attract many applicants, may have lower admission scores than the above or remain the same.

Conversely, the admission scores for new and less competitive programs, such as civil law (English), applied mathematics in economics, management and finance (English), financial technology (co-op program), and management information systems (co-op program), are likely to decrease by more than 1.5 points.

This year, UEL is admitting 2,700 students through three methods: Direct admission and prioritized admission as regulated by the Ministry of Education and Training and Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City; admission based on high school graduation exam scores; and admission based on competency assessment scores.

The tuition fee at the University of Economics and Law for the 2025 academic year is 31.5 million VND per year for Vietnamese programs and 65 million VND for English programs.

Last year, the admission scores based on high school graduation exam results ranged from 24.39 to 27.44 out of 30, with e-commerce having the highest entry requirement.

Currently, students can register, adjust, and supplement their university application choices an unlimited number of times until 5 PM on 28/7. Afterward, they can pay the application fee online from 29/7 to 5 PM on 5/8.

University admission scores will be announced before 5 PM on 22/8.
