On June 9, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) approved the "Nurturing Pho thong Nang khieu Talent" scholarship policy. This initiative aims to identify, attract, and foster excellent students.
Each scholarship is valued at 100% of annual fees, including tuition fees and other support services. Scholarships are reviewed annually, with a limited number available for each specialized subject group and grade level.
For grade 10, VNU-HCM will consider a maximum of 10 students with the highest entrance scores in each specialized subject group. Pho thong Nang khieu currently offers seven specialized subject groups: Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, English, and Informatics.
Similarly, for grades 11 and 12, a maximum of 10 students with the best achievements in each subject group will receive scholarships. Achievements considered include: national, regional, and international excellent student awards; membership in national excellent student competition teams; and students with excellent academic and training results.
Thus, the school will offer a maximum of 210 scholarships annually across the three grades. Specific numbers, values, and criteria will be announced by the school before grade 10 students confirm enrollment.
Pho thong Nang khieu, established in 1996, is a specialized high school under VNU-HCM. Each year, the school admits 595 students, with tuition fees ranging from 20-30 million VND annually, depending on the campus and services provided.
Last year, the specialized Math class had the highest benchmark score at 33,75 points, while other scores ranged from 24,4 to 33.
