Quang Minh, who starred in the film "Dai Tiec Trang Mau 8" (directed by Phan Gia Nhat Linh) released during the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day, stated that over the past two years, he has not taken on any other projects, choosing instead to dedicate his time to family.
"In my youth, I loved adventure, traveling from one place to another," he said. "Now, I just want a peaceful life with my loved ones, raising my son with my girlfriend."

The actor finds happiness watching his son grow stronger, taking his first steps. Many days, returning home from work exhausted, his fatigue lessens simply by hearing his child's laughter. His greatest wish is to maintain his health to care for his son in the future. "Watching my son sleep, I feel a clearer sense of responsibility and motivation to work to secure his future," he said.
Initially, Quang Minh had to relearn infant care. He sought guidance from acquaintances on basic skills like massaging and bathing a baby. When Dustin was born, Quang Minh slept only a few hours daily, often staying up all night to care for his son. Now, the actor finds it "easier" as his son sleeps better and cries less.

The actor works with his girlfriend to build their small home. On days without filming, he cleans the house, cooks, and puts their son to sleep, allowing Khanh Chi to rest. Quang Minh and Tang Khanh Chi began dating in 2023 after meeting at an acquaintance's party. They often posted photos attending concerts and film premieres but kept their relationship private, only going public in 2024. He said they share many interests, from traveling to playing sports. Recently, they took up pickleball, practicing weekly for health and occasionally participating in tournaments. They have not yet held a wedding ceremony, believing marriage is merely a formality.
For his new film, Quang Minh accepted an invitation from producer Charlie Nguyen. The actor expressed feeling pressure returning to the big screen, believing each new script requires him to create a distinct character, different from previous roles. He portrays a pragmatic filmmaker specializing in "instant noodle" (quick, formulaic) productions. The actor performs many comedic scenes, leaning into situational humor, his forte.

A key reason Quang Minh agreed to join the project was his nearly 40-year friendship with co-star Van Son. In the 1990s, they collaborated on many comedy sketches on overseas stages, but this marks their first film together. Quang Minh described their reunion as "old friends meeting again," often sharing coffee and reminiscing about their youth during breaks on set.
Returning to filmmaking after a long break, Quang Minh keenly felt the signs of aging, especially when acting alongside younger cast members. The script contained many action and chase scenes, requiring him and Van Son to rest on folding chairs after each take. Despite this, the actor did not find it arduous, viewing it as the joy of labor and cherishing his time on set. "At this age, I am grateful to still have opportunities to work and be invited to play interesting roles," he said.
Actor Quang Minh, originally from Go Cong, Tien Giang (formerly), was a leading actor for the Kim Cuong and Bong Hong troupes in the late 1980s. He immigrated to the U.S. around 1990, pursuing acting and voice-over work. Quang Minh and his ex-wife, artist Hong Dao, were a popular overseas comedy duo before their 2019 divorce. The couple has two daughters, Vicky Vo and Sophia Minh Chau.

Beyond his stage work, Quang Minh has appeared in many films: "Cho Em Gan Anh Them Chut Nua", "Em Chua 18", "Tim Chong Cho Me", and "Ngoi Nha Buom Buom". In recent years, he returned to Vietnam to participate in various film projects. In 8/2024, the film "Lam Giau Voi Ma", starring him alongside Hoai Linh and Tuan Tran, grossed over 100 billion dong.
