Anh Tu Atus stars in the upcoming comedy-detective film 'An Mang Xem Hoan Hao', directed by Duc Nguyen. The actor recently reflected on his early career, recalling how critical feedback from seniors pushed him to refine his craft. He shared that when he first entered the profession, he was often told his acting was 'awkward' or 'uninspired'. After graduating from Ho Chi Minh City University of Theater and Cinema, Anh Tu Atus, now 34, joined The Gio Tre theater, where he frequently played supporting roles. During this period, he received guidance from experienced artists such as Tieu Bao Quoc, Thu Trang, and Tien Luat.
Despite his passion for improvisation on stage, Anh Tu Atus often received feedback from colleagues about his unrefined or illogical comedic elements. He realized that effective comedy requires more than just generating laughs; it demands subtlety and flexible thinking. This realization spurred him to refine his skills with each play. "Currently, I aim to master the comedy genre, but in a few years, I might transition to complex psychological roles," he stated. "I believe in learning where I am weak, because I want to act until I am 70 or 80 years old."
In recent years, Anh Tu Atus has appeared in a series of films, including 'Hoang Tu Quy' (2025) and 'Nha Ba Toi Mot Phong' (Tet 2026). The actor actively collaborates with directors, discussing various approaches and selecting the most suitable option for his roles. After a film's release, he seeks additional perspectives from colleagues to identify errors and learn from them for future performances. Director Duc Nguyen noted that during the filming of 'An Mang Xem Hoan Hao', Anh Tu Atus experienced a swollen knee, making movement difficult. Although the crew considered using a stunt double, the actor insisted on performing his own action sequences, limiting the need for stand-ins.

His first major opportunity came with the short film 'Ha Noi, Em Yeu Anh', directed by Luk Van. In 2016, he starred in the film '4 Nam, 2 Chang, 1 Tinh Yeu' alongside Harry Lu and Midu. Anh Tu also gained recognition in theater with plays such as 'Chuyen Tinh Bangkok' and 'My Nam Dai Chien'. His filmography expanded with titles like 'Cua Lai Vo Bau' (2019), 'Chi Muoi Ba: Ba Ngay Sinh Tu' (2021), 'Sieu Lua Gap Sieu Lay' (2023), and 'Gap Lai Chi Bau' (2024). He also participated in the reality show 'Anh Trai Say Hi'. Anh Tu married actress Dieu Nhi in 2022, after nearly 10 years together.
The comedy-detective script for 'An Mang Xem Hoan Hao' opens with TikToker Trinh (DJ Mie) waking up on a film set next to the body of Yen (Vu Ngoc Anh), a famous actress. Unable to recall what happened, Trinh seeks out Dai (Anh Tu Atus), a detective she previously hired to investigate her boyfriend's (Ma Ran Do) suspected infidelity. Trinh and Dai soon find themselves embroiled in a series of bizarre situations. The film is set to premiere on 9/10, featuring a cast that includes Huy Khanh, Thuy Giang, Long "Dep Trai", and Sy Toan.
