BTS returns to the music scene

South Korean group BTS makes a comeback with a 14-track album, kicking off a world tour.

BigHit Music announced on 5/1 that the band is embarking on a series of projects after a four-year hiatus. The album is slated for release on 20/3, with a global tour schedule to be unveiled on 14/1.

This album marks the first reunion of all seven members following their military service. The singers actively participated in the music production, including writing lyrics and composing. Industry experts suggest this involvement will lead to a richer musical sound, reflecting their maturity and experiences from the past four years. Chosun Ilbo noted that this comeback signals a new chapter in the group's career, promising fresh artistic perspectives.

AP highlighted BTS's continued "incredible appeal," underscoring the lasting influence they have cultivated for over a decade. The group now has an opportunity to solidify its status as "global icons" within the highly competitive K-pop market.

BTS, an acronym for Bangtan Sonyeondan, debuted in 2013 with seven members: RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. Their music, spanning hip-hop and R&B, often explores social issues, inner struggles, romantic love, and self-love, resonating with young audiences globally.

Industry experts consider the group a crucial force in the entertainment sector, contributing billions of USD to the Korean economy. Their music has achieved global success, consistently breaking sales and online streaming records. In recent years, BTS has become a favorite of Euro-American media, frequently appearing at major awards ceremonies.
