Christy Chung finds strength in husband after daughter's accident

Vietnamese-Canadian actress Christy Chung expressed gratitude for her husband's support during her daughter's recent injury.

According to St Headline, Jaden, Chung’s daughter with her second husband, tore her ACL while playing sports. The 17-year-old underwent surgery on 12/8 and faces a six-month recovery period. On social media, Chung expressed her gratitude for her husband, Zhang Lunshuo’s, unwavering support. “I am incredibly grateful to have you by my side,” she wrote.

Zhang remained calm and offered comfort and care to his wife and daughter. His maturity and love gave the actress strength during a difficult time.

Chung, 55, and Zhang, 43, have been married for 9 years. She changed the surnames of her two daughters with her second husband, Jaden and Cayla, to Zhang. In an interview with Sina, the actress shared that her daughters see their father as a superhero. Zhang cooks for the family, fixes household appliances, and keeps them entertained with his humor.

During livestreams, Chung often receives questions about her age-gap marriage. In a fan meeting last June, she explained their compatibility: “He’s mature and thinks like an old man. At home, he’s like an uncle who knows everything.” Unlike Zhang, she describes herself as having a youthful spirit.

Born in 1970 to a Vietnamese mother, Chung entered the Hong Kong film industry after competing in the Miss Chinese International Pageant in the early 1990s. She gained recognition for her roles in Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils, The Mermaid Got Married, Jan Dara, and The God of Cookery.

In 2000, FHM magazine named her the Sexiest Woman in Asia. In recent years, she has appeared on television shows, in advertising campaigns, and in food and beauty videos. Chung's mother occasionally joins her in cooking videos featuring Vietnamese cuisine.

Before Zhang, Chung had two previous marriages. Her first husband was Belgian, and they share a daughter, Yasmine Ross. In 2003, she married Taiwanese musician Jon Yen, and they divorced in 2011.
