Duong Domic, leading contender for 'Tinh ha say hi' champion

Duong Domic has garnered millions of views for his performances and topped several rounds in "Tinh ha say hi", thanks to his songwriting and performing skills, and a large fanbase.

He is among the 16 finalists, performing his self-composed song "Tell Me Why" solo. As of 28/9, Duong Domic is in the top 5 contestants with high audience votes, alongside Quang Hung MasterD, buitruonglinh, Son.K, and CongB. The top vote-getter will be crowned champion at the gala on 2/10 in Ho Chi Minh City.

Before each stage, the singer asked not just "How will Duong Domic perform?" but "What can I do for the whole team to shine?". According to him, in group work, the leader does not necessarily have to be the most prominent. The singer chose to build performances based on each person's unique style, allocating stage time so everyone could showcase their strengths. Working together on the performance "Nguoi tren day", "brother" Jsol (third from left) commented on Duong Domic's dedication to his role, while The Thien (right) praised Duong Domic's ability to listen and harmonize team members' personalities.

Duong Domic returned to the reality music scene two years after participating in "Anh trai say hi", where he won "Most Impressive Transformation". In "Tinh ha say hi", he showcased his growth over five rounds.

The singer is involved in songwriting, performing, and stage production. Duong Domic consistently took on the role of team leader, creating million-view performances with his teammates, such as "Bad Night", "The gioi cua anh", and "Vuot nguong tinh yeu". He was frequently among the top contestants, leading the rankings for two consecutive rounds early in the competition.

In "Tinh ha say hi", Duong Domic's fans noted his cheerful demeanor and willingness to banter with MCs and colleagues to create humorous moments. He once had the nickname "Chang Bong kho" (Clumsy Boy) when he started his career, due to his often bewildered expressions in front of crowds.

According to the singer, two years ago, he was a newcomer seeking opportunities in the music industry. His career span, though not long, provided him with stage experience and etiquette. "Currently, I am more comfortable and confident in developing my career", Duong Domic stated.

MC Tran Thanh (right), who has accompanied Duong Domic through two music programs, remarked that his junior colleague has become increasingly profound. "Choosing to put himself in difficult situations or daring to experience new things shows that Duong Domic increasingly believes in his own abilities", he said.

Duong Domic, real name Tran Dang Duong, is 26 years old and hails from Hai Phong (formerly Hai Duong). He began his music journey at 14, self-teaching songwriting and singing. In 2019, he interned for IF Entertainment, a Korean entertainment company with a branch in Vietnam. The singer has been honored with awards such as "Outstanding New Face" (at Lan Song Xanh), "New Artist of the Year" (Cong Hien), "Male Artist of the Year" (Men&Life Awards 2025), "Songwriter of the Year" (PIPA 2025), and "Rising Artist" (WeChoice Awards 2024). Duong Domic's debut EP, "Du lieu quy", released in 2024, held the top spot on domestic music platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube for several weeks.

In a moment on stage, reflecting on his career journey, Duong Domic teared up. Before the show, Duong Domic shared that he felt pressure from audience expectations. Many demanded newness from him after "Hao quang", "Sao hang A", and "Bao loi con chua noi", which gained attention on "Anh trai say hi". The singer admitted he was stressed due to a creative block. He overcame this by learning to understand himself and his teammates.

Beyond participating in the show, Duong Domic indicated that 2026 also marks a shift towards a more diverse music style. Following the success of "Mat ket noi", which garnered over 150 million views on YouTube and entered the top 30 notable songs at the Music Awards Japan (MAJ), many advised him to stick to the same formula for more hits. However, Duong Domic stated he does not want to be repetitive or labeled "one-dimensional". He is experimenting with songs featuring more modern rhythms and sounds.
