Hao Khang portrays the son of Mr. Thai (Kieu Minh Tuan), a single father who earns a living as a circus performer. The child star depicts an introverted and quiet teenager. Having endured past trauma, the son is melancholic and prone to overreactions, leading to family conflicts. Compared to his role as be An, this character involves more complex psychological scenes and an edgy portrayal, requiring Hao Khang to master both dialogue technique and emotional expression.
The actor worked to connect with Kieu Minh Tuan, as this was their first time acting together. Before filming began, they spent time talking and learning about each other's interests. Kieu Minh Tuan even befriended some of Hao Khang's friends to understand his habits. Their discussions on engaging topics, and Hao Khang's laughter at Kieu Minh Tuan's jokes, became valuable material for their performances.
