Irene Wan celebrates 26th wedding anniversary

Hong Kong actress Irene Wan thanked her husband, businessman Ha To Quang, for his companionship and affection over 26 years.

On the evening of 1/10, the 60-year-old actress shared several photos from her wedding and current pictures on her personal page, expressing love for her spouse. The couple dined at a seaside restaurant with a view of fireworks.

Irene Wan and the businessman held their wedding in 2000, after many challenges in their relationship. A notable difficulty arose when she became the subject of public gossip for her nude scenes in *Bien dong kinh hon* (Troubled Times) in the late 1990s. The controversial film caused Irene Wan distress, shame, and fear, leading her to go abroad to "escape" paparazzi.

At that time, Ha To Quang was a bank manager from a prominent family. Because of his love for the actress, he faced significant pressure from both his family and the public. They once broke up, but two weeks later, Mr. Ha sought out the star to propose. Irene Wan said, "He realized I was the one he loved most, that love could break all barriers."

Despite the film's impact on her private life, Irene Wan does not regret acting in the work. She believes the body can also express art, and being sensual on screen was a breakthrough in her career. Irene Wan only finds herself foolish for previously being upset by mocking comments.

In Mp Weekly, the artist stated that over two decades of living together, the couple learned lessons to preserve their family. They faced temptations, sometimes found being together boring, occasionally argued, and even separated a few times to consider whether to continue the relationship.

After each period of separation for introspection, Irene Wan realized her spouse's irreplaceable position and wished to continue their bond. She cherishes Ha To Quang more, calling him a gift from heaven. The businessman possesses many virtues, such as maturity, calmness, and respect for his wife. She said, "He cares about others' feelings, always thinks of others. I am too emotional, while my husband is rational. We are very different. He accepts my wild, slightly eccentric nature."

She grew up in a poor family, where strict parental upbringing made Irene Wan stubborn, rebellious, and often defiant towards her parents. At 14, she dropped out of school. One year later, filmmakers Le Dai Vy and Van Tuyen discovered her, leading to her entry into the film industry. Besides cinema, the artist is famous for many television works such as *Dat Ky - Tru Vuong*, *Bong Hong Lua*, and *Moi Han Kim Binh*.
