To Van Loc, the creator behind the "Loc nong thon" (Rural Loc) channel, previously ran a business in Ho Chi Minh City before returning to his hometown of Thai Binh to start a new venture. Beginning in 2021, he developed content centered on rural life, documenting his gardening, planting, participation in seasonal farm work, and the preparation of traditional dishes using familiar ingredients.
Loc independently learned filming and editing techniques, how to care for plants, and researched traditional recipes to ensure his content was not only visually appealing but also rich in cultural depth. His videos follow him as he sows rice seedlings, harvests rice, grinds flour using a stone mortar, wields a scythe, crafts traps for field crabs, searches for clams in the river, and constructs scarecrows from straw. Rather than speeding up the footage, he maintains a deliberate, gentle, and authentic pace, reflecting the tranquil nature of rural life.

Cuisine is a recurring theme in his content, intrinsically linked to the changing seasons, ingredients harvested from his garden, and various traditional occasions. Loc has showcased making banh chung and banh giay for Hung Kings' Commemoration Day, preparing sticky rice and sweet soup, and releasing floating lanterns during Tet Nguyen Tieu (First Full Moon Festival). He also features a variety of flower-based dishes, such as rose cakes, daisy coconut jam, apricot blossom coconut jam, and spring flower fresh rolls.
In addition, Loc has expanded his work into agriculture and local specialty products, which includes the production and sale of arrowroot starch, brown rice and black bean tea, and dragon's blood rice.
After five years of content creation, he has garnered over 1,1 million followers across various digital platforms.
